Just to let you know that, due to ill health, I’ve not been able to post any shop orders or answer any customer queries so far this week. I hope to post all orders by this weekend and will catch up with email next week if I’m better. Many apologies, everyone!
Hope you are feeling better!

Hey Kate, hope you’re feeling better by now (ten days later), or was it all, looking at the date of posting, a seasonal joke?

I read your posts about your tortoise and hare recovery from stroke, and may I highly recommend Dr. Oliver Sacks, the doctor Robin Williams portrayed in “Awakenings,” as an author, who slightly more recently than you suffers from after effects of stroke and frustrating recovery. He is a neurologist and excellent writer specializing in telling the compelling and moving stories of his patients and the wildly unpredictable changes in their lives after brain problems he helped them deal with in his decades of being a physician and researcher.

Hope you feel better. I changed my Gravatar on WordPress to a picture in my finished Bluebell sweater. I love it. How in the world did you design, knit, edit and produce a book in one year? I am thrilled to have gotten this done in 3 months.

I did place an order for a copy of Yokes last night and attached a note gushing that I was so excited, but I’ve been crushing on that book since before you actually had it published, I’ve been loving all your writing that I could find, and I had to wait till now just to place the order, plus I knew before hand that I’d be waiting for it to go through whatever red tape accompanies a transatlantic shipment! I’m patient. I look forward to reading new posts and seeing beautiful photography when you feel better. Take care. (I hope you’re well enough to enjoy some quiet knitting.)

Kate, I know you aren’t feeling well, but I wanted you to know you potentially saved my life this week. I recently found your blog and went back to read your posts about your stroke, just out of curiosity. Well apparently all that stuck in my brain! On Monday morning (3/30/15) I suffered a small, right vertex infarction… Aka, a stroke. I went to the er via ambulance and after an initial frontal ct they told me I probably didn’t have a stroke, I had some yet unidentified “other” problem. They were going to send me to a different hospital for observation when I asked for an MRI. Turned out that was the right thing to do since the MRI caught the problem! Your posts about your initial misdiagnosis helped me make the call to push the issue, and as a result I have a very good prognosis! This 32 year old mother of 5 thanks you with all her heart!

If it’s an upper respiratory bug, try the wonderful Umcka Kaloba. Called Umcka in the US, and Kaloba at Boots here in the UK. It’s the only herbal remedy that’s been through the double-blind tests and shown that it reduces severity and shortens duration! I have my American-based cousin to thank for this tip, which I am sharing to all those I love…

Dear Kate, healing energies going out to you. Brave of you in telling us your limitations. I’m a knitter in Ohio in the states and found you through a blog I follow of “Wendy Knits” who got me hooked on “Tomof holland” who got me to you! Interesting knit world we live
in! I also love my nearby landscape, very different from yours – lots of trees, hills, rivers. Lots of inspiration.
Thank you for yours!
