lovely new shade inspirations. the only thing ‘wrong’ with the first collection was the lack of purple! (says the purple addict)
and the raspberry and gold immediately made me think of Battenburg cake (OK, so i’m a cake addict too!) but that would be a good pattern idea for a hat for one of daughters (also a cake addict).
These colours look wonderful! I’m using your wool for the ancient craft, Naalbinding. It is perfect yarn for this. Still have to work out how to change colour though. There’s not much information online, in English..
So have to work it out myself. When can we buy the new colours?
I’m just discovering yellow, especially with grey. This one is particularly stunning. I’m looking forward to a beautiful buchaille pattern to set it off – a cardi, perhaps?
Raspberry, Gorse and Heather lush! Please add “Skye Peat Bog brown” and then you have a nice round 10 colours ;) The number of times I waded through the Cullin peat bogs in my time makes my knees sore thinking about it!
Gorgeous colors, love all of them. Fantastic pictures, brought back some lovely memories of Scotland, was there this past summer. Put alot of miles on the rental car taking day trips across the countrysides.
Such splendid colors and welcome news on what is proving to be a hectic morning. Can’t wait to see the yarn itself and then to order some and then knit with it!
Have you done something to the website? When i click on to read the post there is now a grey title page that will not go away so that i cant get onto the site. Has the site become unmobile friendly regards Lucy D.
Hi Lucy,
I’ve checked and it should really work on all devices – what you are seeing is the menu bar (activated by clicking at the top left of the screen) if you click to the right of the screen when opening the page you should be able to see the post?
best wishes
Kate
Lovely colours !! Wish I could join you in Edinburgh, but lives in Copenhagen…. Maybe next year :-)
I really enjoy your posts, thank you so much!

Hey Kate, Tom and Bruce,
Here I thought Christmas was other and the best present of all… NEW COLOURS of BUACHAILLE!!! I absolutely can hardly wait…do I have to wait very Long? Are there going to be more fun patterns adding in the New Beauties? How Long did you say it would be? My Heart can’t take all this excitement…I better go knit another pair of Kokkeluri Mitts and 2 or 3 pairs of Pawkies, that should give me plenty to do till the New Colours Arrive! When was that again? (LOL) I was also wondering if you will be designing a Buachaille Sweater for Bruce! I have two wonderful Pups, actually one is mine and one belongs to Our Youngest Son, but they are both deserving of a Big of Buachaille too. Ya’ll are just full of surprises and by the Looks of things, “FUN”, will be the go to word for All Kate’s Fans!
P.S. I hope Bruce has been finally released from the confines of his “Cone Collar”, and is now enjoying a few well deserved romps around the Glens!
Well I know for a fact one is a mustard shade because you already told me so! And if it looks like the shade up there I am going to DIE with pure colour pleasure…. finding the right shade of mustard is my ongoing yarn obsession…. this might be it!
Not only does this make me excited to see the new yarn colours, it also makes me want to hop on a plane and fly directly to Scotland to hike in the hills. :-)
I made my sis in law baffies in purple and gray and they looked awesome together! She loves purple so I did the toe in purple and then also as the MC in the pattern. I made the mountains a natural gray.
Oh my gosh I can’t wait, Raspberry Pink, Heather yellow and purple. Those will work so well together and with the rest of the colours. Virtual jumping up and down with excitement.
Gorgeous, especially raspberry and heather. I’m considering taking up spinning and weaving with the Worstead weavers this year and I would love to work with those colours.
So excited!
