We’ve had a few enquiries about the timing and release of our new book (Sark) and new club (Allover), so I thought I’d give you a quick update: a delay at the printer means that the publication of Sark has unfortunately been held back – we are now very much hoping the book will arrive towards the end of next week – as soon as it is delivered we will let you know!

I have two brand-new designs (a pullover and a cardigan) that are part of Sark, and will be released with, and alongside, the book next week: I love both of these patterns inordinately, and have been itching to show them to you for what seems an age! I’m not terribly good at keeping a lid on my impatience where new designs are concerned . . .

But I’ve had plenty to keep me occupied. Over the past few weeks, Tom and I have been working hard on several different photoshoots (featuring our wonderful neighbour, Iona) and finalising plans for our forthcoming club – Allover – which looks to be set to be one of our biggest (and hopefully, best) clubs yet, with a series of colourwork design releases, an accompanying book, and an ongoing exploration of colour in knitting that will span around four months. Because of the printer delays and current uncertainty about Sark’s release date, we are now anticipating being able to make an announcement about sign-ups for the Allover club in October, with the club itself commencing towards the end of that month.

I am really looking forward to this autumn and winter – the months ahead seem more than usually full of lots of lovely knitting which I can’t wait to share with you. Not long to wait now!
Yours, impatiently . . .
Accompanying images courtesy of Tom, who waited up to capture the aurora borealis over the West Highland Way a few days ago.
Oh my! We plan to travel the West Highland Way next September between the between the 7th and the 15th. I hope we have the good fortune to see a sight like that!

Thank you for the fantastic photography. I’m here in northern Alaska, and our Aurora is rarely purple like that. Nature really is amazing. I am looking forward to a new club – life has had me in grips lately, but winter is always a perfect time (I think) to relax :-). Thank you for giving me something to look forward to!!

Thank you very much for this update, Kate.
I also want to thank Tom for the spectacular photographs of skies that I don’t think I will ever see in person.
Greatly appreciate all your posts.

How exciting! The spinning group I’m part of will also be spending the next year exploring color.
Also, those northern lights are quite different from any I’ve seen here in the Canadian north! I wonder what makes the colors and shapes so different.

Take your time with the club–we’ll be thrilled whenever it emerges from the tangle of these times.
As for the photos, I’m startled by how otherworldly they look. Would you be willing to share the location of the shoot with any more specificity?
Thank you and Tom, as always, for bringing visual joy to my day!

My impatience for colourwork all-overs got the better of me so I’m knitting Sgadan……

I am struck by the photos, aurora borealis is my long-lasting dream.
I would like to knit something linked with that phenomenon – any ideas Kate?

Well, patience is something I possess, so no problems there for me. I enjoy the anticipation. Also, it is my birthday next month, and my family are always happy for me to say what I would like for presents, so that is most fortuitous indeed.
Happy days.
Btw, Tom’s photos are stunning.

Thank you for these impressive pictures, I feel such a longing to see this nature with my eyes. But meanwhile I am grateful to enjoy Tom’s pictures.

I’ve always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis so appreciate Tom’s beautiful, evocative, photos. I’m told patience is a virtue but the delays must be frustrating.
